1. About this Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how The Ascent Summit Challenge website uses cookies and similar storage or access technologies.
The site is operated by Ascent Onsite Group Ltd (“AOG”, “we”, “us” or “our”). This policy should be read with our Privacy Policy.
2. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small file placed on or accessed from your device when you use a website.
Websites may also use similar technologies such as local storage, pixels, tags, scripts and device or browser identifiers.
In this policy, we use the word “cookies” to cover these technologies where the same privacy rules apply.
3. How we use cookies
We may use cookies to:
- make the website function correctly;
- remember privacy and cookie choices;
- maintain website security;
- understand how visitors use the website;
- measure performance and diagnose errors;
- understand which campaign links or sources led people to the site;
- improve the campaign website and registration journey.
We do not use non-essential cookies before the required consent has been given.
4. Strictly necessary cookies
Strictly necessary cookies are required for the website or a service you request to work properly.
They may be used for purposes such as security, fraud or abuse prevention, load balancing, remembering your cookie-consent choice, form functionality and maintaining a requested session.
These cookies do not require consent where the relevant legal exemption applies, but we still explain their use.
Blocking necessary cookies through your browser may cause parts of the website to stop working correctly.
5. Analytics cookies
We may use optional analytics technologies to understand matters such as:
- number of visits;
- pages viewed;
- device and browser type;
- how visitors move through the site;
- which campaign or referral source led to a visit;
- whether important website actions are completed.
Analytics cookies are not activated until you consent, where consent is required.
If Google Analytics or another analytics provider is used, the final production cookie inventory must identify the provider and cookies actually deployed.
We do not send form contents such as names, email addresses or telephone numbers to analytics services.
6. Campaign attribution
Links to the Summit Challenge may contain campaign parameters, such as UTM parameters, so that we can understand whether a visit came from the Ascent Onsite Group website, The Ascent Way, LinkedIn or other social media, email campaigns, participating companies, campaign partners, Journey articles or other campaign activity.
Where storage on your device is used for non-essential attribution or measurement, it will be subject to the appropriate consent requirements.
7. Third-party content and services
The site may link to or later integrate with external services such as the selected charity’s fundraising platform, video or media services, analytics services, social platforms, registration, CRM or communications services.
Third-party websites may set their own cookies when you visit them. Their own cookie and privacy policies apply.
Where third-party technology is embedded directly into the Summit website, we will classify and control it appropriately through the site’s consent mechanism.
8. Cookie choices
When you first visit the site, you should be given clear choices regarding non-essential cookies.
The consent interface should provide:
- Accept all;
- Reject non-essential;
- access to cookie preferences where different optional categories are offered.
Rejecting non-essential cookies should not prevent normal access to the public website.
Consent should be as easy to withdraw as it is to give.
9. Changing your preferences
No cookie-consent tool is active on the website at present, because the site currently sets no non-essential cookies (see the inventory in Section 10). Once optional analytics or advertising technology is introduced, a Cookie Settings control will be added here and in the site footer so you can change or withdraw your choice at any time.
You can also control cookies through your browser. Browser settings may allow you to delete stored cookies, block particular cookies, block third-party cookies, block all cookies or receive alerts when cookies are being set.
Blocking all cookies may affect website functionality.
10. Current cookie inventory
We checked the live website on 16 September 2026: it sets no HTTP cookies, and no data is written to local or session storage on the homepage, the Register Interest page or the Fundraising page. The Cloudflare Turnstile security check used on our forms runs inside its own cross-origin frame and does not set any cookie on this site.
There is currently no optional analytics cookie in production, so no analytics row is listed below.
- Strictly necessary — none currently set. When a cookie-consent tool is introduced, this row will list it here.
- Analytics — none currently active. Google Analytics and Bing/Microsoft Advertising verification are being connected separately; once either sets a cookie or storage value in production, it will be added to this table with its provider, purpose and duration.
- Third-party / embedded content — none currently embedded.
The production inventory will be updated whenever new tracking or embedded technology is introduced.
11. Registration forms
The Register Interest form may collect information that you enter deliberately. Form information is not a cookie.
The use of form data is explained in the Privacy Policy.
A cookie or security technology used solely to keep a form secure or functional may be treated as strictly necessary where the legal exemption applies.
12. Updates to this policy
We may update this policy when the website technology changes, analytics or campaign-measurement tools change, fundraising or registration services are introduced, or legal or regulatory guidance changes.
The latest update date will appear at the top of the policy.
