Terms of Use

Last updated: 15 September 2026Website: summit.ascentonsite.groupOperator: Ascent Onsite Group LtdCompany number: 12386048

1. About these terms

These Terms of Use govern your use of The Ascent Summit Challenge website.

The website is operated by Ascent Onsite Group Ltd (“AOG”, “we”, “us” or “our”), registered in England and Wales under company number 12386048.

By using this website, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to them, please do not use the website.

These terms govern use of the website only. They are not participant booking terms, expedition operator terms, charity donation terms or travel terms.

Separate terms will apply before any participant place becomes contractually confirmed or any expedition payment becomes binding.

2. About The Ascent Summit Challenge

The Ascent Summit Challenge is AOG’s social-value and fundraising programme.

Kilimanjaro 2027 is the founding edition.

The campaign is being developed to bring together colleagues, clients, partners and selected professionals around a major challenge and a chosen charitable cause.

Information published during the planning stage may change as the charity, expedition operator, itinerary, dates, costs, travel arrangements, training programme and campaign partners are confirmed.

We will distinguish confirmed information from information that remains under development.

3. Registering interest

Submitting a Register Interest form:

  • does not reserve or confirm a participant place;
  • does not create a booking;
  • does not create an expedition contract;
  • does not require you to pay a deposit;
  • does not guarantee that you will be invited to participate;
  • does not commit AOG to accepting you as a participant or campaign partner.

Registering interest allows AOG to contact you about the relevant opportunity and next steps.

A confirmed place will only arise under separate written participant and/or booking arrangements.

4. Participant and expedition terms

Before formal participant commitments are accepted, separate terms will set out matters such as eligibility, participant responsibilities, expedition costs, deposits and payment dates, fundraising commitments, cancellation and refunds, transfers or withdrawals, travel arrangements, insurance requirements, medical declarations, conduct, training expectations, risk acknowledgements, expedition operator terms, and use of photography and campaign content.

Where an expedition operator or travel provider contracts directly with a participant, that provider’s own booking conditions may also apply.

Nothing on this website replaces those contractual documents.

5. Fundraising and donations

The campaign is designed to keep charitable fundraising separate from participant expedition costs.

Public charitable donations are not intended to fund participant flights, hotels, mountain fees, personal kit or AOG administration.

When public fundraising begins, donations are expected to be made through the selected charity’s approved fundraising arrangements.

The selected charity or fundraising platform may apply separate donation terms, privacy terms, Gift Aid rules and refund policies.

Any fundraising targets, participant commitments or campaign funding arrangements will be confirmed before they become binding.

Information on Gift Aid is provided for general information only. Eligibility depends on applicable HMRC rules, the circumstances of the donation and the selected charity’s process.

6. Expedition information and risk

Mount Kilimanjaro is a high-altitude environment.

Any expedition involves risks which may include altitude illness, injury, severe or changing weather, fatigue, travel disruption, remote or limited medical facilities, illness, evacuation, cancellation or itinerary changes.

General information on this website is not medical, travel or professional mountaineering advice.

Prospective participants are responsible for considering their own circumstances and following appropriate medical, travel, insurance and operator advice before committing to an expedition.

Detailed risk, medical, insurance and operator information will be provided to confirmed participants through the relevant participant and expedition arrangements.

7. UK training activities

Information on UK training events may be published on the website.

Participation in an organised training activity may be subject to separate event instructions, route and weather decisions, risk assessments, participant declarations, equipment requirements, leader instructions, and cancellation or route changes for safety reasons.

AOG may change, postpone or cancel training activity where reasonably necessary.

8. Campaign partners and third parties

References to prospective or confirmed charities, expedition providers, campaign partners, training providers, equipment brands or other third parties do not create a general endorsement beyond the stated campaign relationship.

Third-party websites, services and platforms operate under their own terms and policies.

We are not responsible for the content or availability of third-party websites simply because we link to them.

9. Accuracy of website information

We aim to keep information accurate and current. However, during the planning stages of the campaign, details may change.

In particular, you should not rely on website content alone as final confirmation of expedition dates, route, operator, flights, accommodation, participant price, fundraising commitment, training dates, charity arrangements, insurance, medical requirements or cancellation rights.

Where information is commercially or contractually important, rely on the final written information provided for that specific arrangement.

10. Permitted use

You may use this website for lawful personal or business purposes connected with learning about or engaging with The Ascent Summit Challenge.

You must not:

  • use the website unlawfully;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website, server or connected systems;
  • introduce viruses, malware or harmful code;
  • interfere with the website’s operation or security;
  • scrape, harvest or systematically extract personal data;
  • impersonate another person;
  • submit false or misleading registration information;
  • misuse forms, contact routes or campaign systems;
  • use campaign content in a way that falsely suggests sponsorship, endorsement or participation;
  • reproduce substantial parts of the website for commercial purposes without permission.

11. Intellectual property

Unless stated otherwise, website content including text, campaign copy, design, graphics, logos, photographs, videos, illustrations, route/elevation graphics, campaign names and visual assets is owned by or licensed to Ascent Onsite Group Ltd.

You may view and share links to public pages for normal personal, professional and campaign-support purposes.

You may not reproduce, alter, distribute, sell, license or commercially exploit protected material without permission, except where the law allows.

Third-party names, trademarks and content remain the property of their respective owners.

12. User submissions

If you submit information through the website, you confirm that the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge, you have the right to provide it, it is not unlawful, defamatory, abusive or malicious, and it does not knowingly infringe another person’s rights.

Personal data submitted through forms is handled under our Privacy Policy.

13. Website availability and security

We aim to keep the website available and secure, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.

We may suspend access, perform maintenance, change content or functionality, withdraw or replace parts of the website, or take action to protect security.

We are not responsible for failures outside our reasonable control.

14. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

Subject to applicable law, AOG is not responsible for loss arising solely from reliance on general planning-stage website information instead of final contractual information, third-party websites or services, interruptions outside our reasonable control, or misuse of the website contrary to these terms.

These website Terms of Use do not limit any rights or remedies that may arise under separate participant, booking, travel, charity or partner agreements.

15. Privacy and cookies

Our use of personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

Where third-party fundraising, travel or booking services are used, their privacy terms may also apply.

16. Accessibility

We want the Summit Challenge website to be usable by as many people as reasonably possible.

Please see our Accessibility statement for further information and for details of how to report an accessibility problem.

17. Changes to these terms

We may amend these Terms of Use from time to time.

The latest version will be published on this page with an updated date.

If separate contractual terms already apply to you, changes to these website terms do not automatically change that contract.

18. Governing law

These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory rights you may have under applicable law.
